Ducted Air Conditioning

```
What is ducted air conditioning?
Ducted air conditioning uses one central unit and hidden ductwork to heat and cool the whole home through ceiling or floor outlets. It gives even comfort with a clean look. See our ducted air conditioning page.
Is ducted or split system air conditioning better?
Ducted suits whole home comfort and multiple rooms, while split systems suit single rooms or zones at a lower upfront cost. We compare both against your floor plan, usage and budget at quote stage.
Can ducted air conditioning heat and cool different rooms separately?
Yes. Zoning lets you condition only the areas you use, such as living spaces by day and bedrooms at night. Smart controls like MyAir make zone control easy.
Which ducted brands do you install?
We install Daikin, Braemar by Seeley, Mitsubishi, Panasonic and Haier ducted systems.
```

Split System Air Conditioning

```
What is a split system air conditioner?
A split system has an indoor unit that delivers air and an outdoor unit that houses the compressor. It heats and cools a single room or open plan area efficiently and quietly. See our split system page.
How do I choose the right size split system?
Size depends on room area, ceiling height, insulation, windows and sun exposure. An undersized unit struggles and an oversized one cycles inefficiently, so we assess your space before recommending a capacity.
Can I connect multiple rooms to one outdoor unit?
Yes, multi split systems connect several indoor units to one outdoor unit. They are a good middle ground between single splits and full ducted systems. We will advise whether multi split suits your home.
Which split system brands do you install?
We install Daikin, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Braemar by Seeley and Haier split systems.
```

Reverse Cycle Air Conditioning

```
What is reverse cycle air conditioning?
Reverse cycle systems move heat in both directions, so one unit cools in summer and heats in winter. Because they move heat rather than generate it, they can be an efficient heating option. See reverse cycle air conditioning.
Is reverse cycle heating cheaper to run than gas?
It depends on your tariff, home insulation and system efficiency. Reverse cycle often compares well because it delivers more heat energy than the electricity it uses. We can talk through running costs when we quote.
```

Evaporative Cooling

```
How does evaporative cooling work?
Evaporative coolers draw in outside air through water soaked pads and push cooled, fresh air through your home. They use far less electricity than refrigerated cooling. See our evaporative cooling page.
Is evaporative cooling suitable for Melbourne?
It works best on hot, dry days and is less effective in humid conditions. Many Melbourne homes use it successfully, and it can be paired with ducted heating for year round comfort. We can advise whether it suits your home.
Do you install Breezair evaporative coolers?
Yes. Breezair is a Seeley International brand, and we install and service evaporative systems. See Breezair evaporative air conditioning.
Do evaporative coolers need servicing?
Yes. Pads, water systems and drains should be checked and serviced annually, ideally before summer, to keep performance up and prevent water quality issues.
```

Ducted Gas Heating and Wall Furnaces

```
How does ducted gas heating work?
A central gas heater warms air that is distributed through ducts to outlets in each room. It is a familiar choice for existing Melbourne homes. See ducted gas heating.
Can I still install gas heating in Victoria?
Gas heating can be installed in many existing homes, but new builds requiring a planning permit may be subject to all electric requirements. We will advise what applies to your property.
Do you install and service gas wall furnaces?
Yes. We install and service gas wall furnaces, with all gas work carried out by licensed, ESV accredited technicians. See gas appliance servicing.
How do I know if my gas heater is safe?
Have it inspected regularly by a licensed gas fitter. Warning signs include yellow or orange flames, soot marks, unusual smells or a pilot light that keeps going out. If you suspect a leak, turn off the gas and call us or your gas emergency line.
```

Hydronic and Underfloor Heating

```
What is hydronic heating?
Hydronic heating circulates heated water through panel radiators or floor pipes to warm rooms with quiet, radiant heat. It does not dry the air or blow dust around. See hydronic heating.
What is underfloor heating?
Underfloor heating warms your home from the ground up with hydronic pipes in the floor slab or beneath flooring, giving even, comfortable warmth. See underfloor heating.
Do you service hydronic heating systems?
Yes. We repair and service hydronic heating, including boilers, pumps and radiators. See hydronic heating service and repairs.
```

Braemar Dominator Series

```
What is the Braemar Dominator Series?
The Dominator Series is designed to directly replace existing ducted gas heater units, with hybrid heating and cooling. It is quiet, efficient and VEU rebate eligible on qualifying models.
Do I need to replace my ducting to install a Dominator?
In most cases the Dominator is designed to reuse existing ductwork, which helps keep installation simple. We assess your ducting at quote stage.
```

Hot Water Heat Pumps

```
How does a heat pump hot water system work?
A heat pump draws heat from the surrounding air to heat your water, using much less electricity than a conventional electric system. See our hot water page.
Which hot water heat pump brands do you install?
Can I pair a hot water heat pump with solar?
Yes. Heat pumps can run on rooftop solar power, cutting running costs further. See our solar ready HVAC and solar power pages.
```

Servicing and Repairs

```
What servicing and repairs do you offer?
How often should I service my system?
Once a year is a good rule of thumb: heating before winter and cooling before summer. Clean filters regularly between services.
What does a deep clean involve?
A deep clean removes dust, mould and grime from air conditioner components to improve airflow, efficiency and air quality.
What should I do if my system stops working?
Check the thermostat, power supply and filters first. If it still will not run, call us on 03 9792 3261 and we will arrange a technician.
```

VEU Rebate

```
What is the VEU rebate?
The Victorian Energy Upgrades program provides discounts on eligible energy efficient products to reduce bills and emissions. See our VEU rebate page.
How do I claim the VEU rebate?
We handle the process as a participant in the program. Eligibility depends on your product and property, so see how to apply or ask when we quote.
```

Smart Controls, Solar and Energy Efficiency

```
What is MyAir?
MyAir is a smart zone control system for ducted air conditioning, letting you set temperatures and zones from a wall mounted tablet or smartphone app. See MyAir.
What is solar ready HVAC?
Solar ready HVAC systems are selected and set up to work efficiently with rooftop solar, helping you use your own solar power for heating, cooling and hot water. See solar ready HVAC.
Do you offer solar panels, batteries or energy audits?
Yes. See our solar power and home energy audit pages for details.
Do you install fireplaces?
We offer Decoflame Net Zero fireplaces. Contact us for details on models and installation.
```

Commercial HVAC and Builders

```
What commercial HVAC services do you offer?
We design, install, repair and maintain systems for offices, retail, hospitality, healthcare, education, warehouses and industrial sites. See commercial HVAC.
Do you work with builders and trades?
Yes. See HVAC for builders and traders or call 03 9792 3261 to discuss project quoting.
```
